Position Summary
The Director of Special Operations & Nonprofit Development is responsible for leading strategic
initiatives that support the organization's growth, operational excellence, and community impact.
This role combines internal operational oversight ("special operations") with external-facing
nonprofit development work — including fundraising, grant management, community
partnerships, and program expansion — to support a multi-site therapy practice. The Director
works closely with the Multi-Site Director to ensure consistency, compliance, and sustainable
growth across all locations.
Key Responsibilities
Special Operations
•
Support the Multi-Site Director in coordinating operations across multiple clinic/office
locations
•
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and consistency
across sites
•
Lead special projects such as new site launches, service line expansions, or organizational
restructuring
•
Serve as a point of escalation for operational issues that require cross-site coordination
•
Monitor compliance with licensing, accreditation, and regulatory requirements across
locations
•
Assist in crisis management and contingency planning for site-level disruptions
Nonprofit Development
•
Develop and execute strategies for fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations
•
Research and pursue grant opportunities aligned with the organization's mission (e.g.,
mental health access, community wellness)
•
Build and maintain relationships with community partners, funders, and stakeholders
•
Plan and oversee fundraising events, campaigns, and donor stewardship activities
•
Prepare reports and impact summaries for funders, board members, and community
partners
•
Support the development of the organization's nonprofit arm or affiliated foundation, if
applicable
Cross-Functional Leadership
•
Collaborate with clinical directors and site leads to align operational and development
goals with client care standards
•
Represent the organization at community events, partner meetings, and public forums
•
Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to the Multi-Site Director
•
Support staff training related to organizational initiatives and development goals
Qualifications
Required:
•
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Health,
Social Work, or related field
•
3+ years of experience in operations management, nonprofit development, or a related
leadership role
•
Strong project management and organizational skills
•
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grant writing experience
•
Ability to travel between multiple sites as needed
Preferred:
•
Master's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or related field
•
Experience in a behavioral health, therapy, or healthcare services setting
•
Established relationships with local grant-making organizations or community
foundations
•
Familiarity with healthcare compliance and licensing requirements
