Manager, Dispatch & Service Delivery

Onsite Edmonton, AB; Airdrie, AB; or Burnaby, BC | Full-time, Permanent | Willingness to travel between locations

Lead the Team That Keeps TRAXX Moving
Join TRAXX as our Manager, Dispatch and Service Delivery, where you will lead the team that keeps our operations moving safely, reliably, and with a strong customer focus. This role is ideal for a transportation professional who is calm under pressure, enjoys solving complex operational challenges, and takes pride in delivering safe, reliable, and customer-focused service.

In this role, you will report to the Co-Chief Operating Officers and lead the Dispatch Team while partnering closely with Operations, Safety, Maintenance, Sales, Finance, and Driver Leadership. Your work will help ensure that what is sold, planned, and delivered stays aligned across the business, making this a central role in service execution, resource planning, operational communication, service recovery, and continuous improvement.

What You Will Lead

  • Lead daily dispatch operations, scheduling activities, and service coverage across all operating divisions
  • Develop, coach, and lead a high-performing Dispatch Team by fostering accountability, continuous training, and exceptional service standards.
  • Optimize fleet and motorcoach operator utilization to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable service delivery.
  • Direct service recovery efforts during operational disruptions, irregular operations, and customer-impacting events to minimize service interruptions
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key operational performance indicators, including on-time performance, service reliability, fleet utilization, service failures, and dispatch productivity.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Finance, and Driver Leadership to ensure seamless operational execution and communication.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance scheduling practices, dispatch workflows, communication, reporting, and the effective use of technology.

What You Will Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in transportation dispatch, operational scheduling, logistics, or a related operations environment.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing operational teams in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
  • Strong knowledge of charter, scheduled, contract, industrial transportation, tourism, passenger transportation, logistics, or other service-based operations.
  • Proven ability to make sound operational decisions, prioritize competing demands, and balance customer commitments with service delivery requirements.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and lead through influence.
  • A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and exceptional service.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret operational data, identify trends, and implement improvements that enhance performance.
  • Proficiency with dispatch, scheduling, or transportation management systems, along with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Familiarity with transportation networks throughout Western Canada and the Northwestern United States is considered an asset.

Location

This position can be based at a TRAXX operating location in Edmonton, AB; Airdrie, AB; or Burnaby, BC, with regular coordination across dispatch, operations, maintenance, safety, sales, finance, and driver leadership. Willingness to travel between locations is required. The role may also require travel or operational support across TRAXX divisions in Western Canada and the Northwestern United States, depending on business needs.

Compensation & Total Rewards

At TRAXX, we recognize that great leaders deserve more than a competitive salary. Along with a market-competitive compensation package based on your experience and qualifications, you'll enjoy a comprehensive range of benefits designed to support your career, health, and work-life balance, including:

  • Competitive salary

  • Health, dental, and vision coverage

  • Employer RRSP matching

  • Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP)

  • Annual wellness benefit

  • Generous paid sick leave

  • Paid personal leave
