As Fabricator, you will play a key role in manufacturing and maintaining molds including repair and refurbishment. Operating specialized machinery, you will set up, maintain, and operate equipment to produce and repair molds according to precise specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and blueprints related to mold design and repair.
Set up and operate CNC machines, lathes, grinders, and other equipment to fabricate and repair mold components.
Perform precision machining operations to achieve required dimensions, surface finishes, and tolerances.
Inspect and measure completed mold components using precision tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers) to ensure accuracy and quality.
Repair and refurbish existing molds by identifying and addressing issues such as cracks, wear, or dimensional deviations.
Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize mold designs for performance and manufacturability.
Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance tasks and troubleshooting issues as needed.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Document work performed, including repairs and modifications, for traceability and future reference.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education and experience requirements are as follows: Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; five (5) or more years of fabrication experience preferrable in a structural steel shop or structural installation fields; and demonstrated expertise in the following areas:
Perform welding and fabrication tasks producing unique or specialized parts as required.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Operate and use a wide range of tools and equipment, such as lathes, mills, drill presses, and welding machines, to handle diverse tasks.
Must have the ability to adapt to different projects and quickly switch between task ensuing precision and quality in all machining tasks.
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and specifications.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
Welding Certification - CWS
Proven experience working in a job shop environment (e.g., Dodds Machine and Tools, Signal Machine Shop, L&L Shops).
Proficiency in welding and fabrication.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Skilled in operating sheet metal shear, drill press, lathe, mill, and press brake.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
