Responsibilities
Design, build, and ship both conventional and AI-powered product features across the platform. Establish evaluation and observability practices to ensure AI features are reliable, safe, and provide genuine customer value.
Requirements
Requires a strong software engineering foundation with experience in .NET/C# and frontend frameworks like React or Angular. Must have demonstrated experience building and shipping production-grade LLM-powered applications.
Full job description
The Role
This is a software engineering role first and foremost. You'll build and ship product capabilities across our platform — and a meaningful part of your work will be AI-powered features, which is why we're looking for an experienced software engineer who also brings real AI engineering experience: someone who has built and shipped LLM-powered product capabilities to production, in front of real end users and customers.
Day to day, you'll work across the full breadth of our product. Some of what you build will be conventional product engineering — features, integrations, and improvements to core workflows. Some of it will be AI-driven capabilities that help AEC professionals work faster and smarter. In both cases, you'll own your work end to end: from shaping what to build with product, through architecture and implementation, to production monitoring and iteration.
You'll join a product engineering organisation that takes AI seriously across the whole software lifecycle, and you'll help set the standard for how we build AI capabilities well: reliably, safely, and with genuine customer value.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and ship product features across our platform — both conventional product capabilities and AI-powered ones — for customers across Australia, the UK, and the US.
Write production-quality application code across our stack, contributing to core product workflows, integrations, and platform improvements.
Build LLM-powered product capabilities and the engineering around them: prompt and context management, retrieval, tool/function calling, orchestration, guardrails, and fallback behaviour.
Establish evaluation and observability practices so we know our AI features work — quality metrics, regression testing, monitoring of cost, latency, and output quality in production.
Work with product managers and designers to shape features that solve real customer problems and be honest about where AI is (and isn't) the right tool for the job.
Share what you learn: raise the AI engineering capability of the broader engineering team through patterns, code review, and mentoring.
Qualifications / Experience
Must have:
Strong software engineering foundation with several years of experience building and shipping production web applications.
Experience with some of our tech stack — .NET/C# on the backend; Angular and/or React on the front end. We don't expect deep experience across all of it, but we do need meaningful overlap, ideally on the backend (.NET/C#) in particular.
Demonstrated experience building and shipping AI/LLM product capabilities to production with real end users — not just prototypes, demos, or internal experiments.
Hands-on experience with LLM APIs and patterns: prompt engineering, structured outputs, RAG/retrieval, tool use/function calling, and agentic workflows.
Familiarity with cloud AI services and model providers (e.g., Azure Foundry, Anthropic, OpenAI, AWS Bedrock).
Experience with vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search.
Exposure to AI-assisted development tooling and agentic engineering workflows.
Experience with evaluation and quality practices for non-deterministic systems — you know how to measure whether an AI feature works.
Pragmatic product judgment: you can weigh cost, latency, accuracy, and user experience trade-offs and make sensible calls.
Strong communication skills — you can explain AI system behaviour and trade-offs to product, leadership, and non-AI engineers.
Nice to have:
Experience in B2B SaaS, ideally multi-tenant products.
Experience with agent frameworks (e.g. LangGraph, Microsoft Agent Framework, CrewAI, etc.)
Domain exposure to AEC, professional services, or project-based businesses.
Location & Work Setup
Our preference is for this role to be based in Sydney, Australia, working in a hybrid arrangement with our local team. That said, we're remote-friendly and open to strong candidates working from anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
