The Oncology nurse provides comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care, including the administration of chemotherapy and other therapeutic treatments. They are responsible for assessing, planning, and coordinating patient care plans to optimize outcomes and facilitate patient education.
Requires a nursing degree from an accredited program and a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of employment. BLS is required, and Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification is mandatory upon eligibility.

Position Summary
The Oncology nurse provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients and is responsible for delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, and evidence-based quality care. Practicing in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics, and the ANA scope and standards of practice.
Experience
A minimum of two years of practice as a registered nurse in an acute care setting is preferred but not required.
Education
Graduate of an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited nursing program. A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred but not required. Additional nursing CEU’s are required for cancer centers with Accreditations.
Licenses
Essential Functions
Employs Nursing Professional Practice by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patients’ care.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Advocates for patients to promote a safe and quality patient care.
Facilitates learning environment for patients to educate them on disease processes and treatments.

The pay range for this position is $37.50-$53.06
