DesignAgency is looking for a Project Accountant who will be responsible for all areas of financial processes related to Interior Design and Creative Services projects throughout the firm.
The Project Accountant will report directly to the Director of Finance and will play a crucial role in this rapidly expanding business and will participate in the improvement of the Finance Team. This is a fast-paced, high-volume role; the successful candidate will be highly driven and always striving for improvement.
Roles & Responsibilities
For the Canadian parent company and its two global subsidiaries:
- Prepare monthly invoices based on % complete and time and expense billing, and ensure invoicing deadlines are met.
- Implement and maintain scheduled AR collections process, including follow-ups, documentation, escalation to management for any problem accounts, run bi-weekly meeting with management for general review.
- Assist monthly financial reporting by preparing KPI analysis
- Calculate direct labour utilization and realization rates as required
- Update and maintain the Project Command Centre in Ajera
- Participate in the monthly project billing calls with the Corporate Accountant, Directors/Team Leads/Finance team
- Manage and maintain ASR tracking
- Be involved with Corporate Accountant, Directors, Team Leads and Project Managers to assist in monitoring project performance and forecasts
- Ensure all contracts, invoices and project reporting are well organized and saved
- Review and adjust employee timesheets and expenses for teams in your portfolio.

Qualifications:
- Certificate in Accounting or equivalent is preferred
- 3-5 years accounting experience, preferably in a professional service industry, i.e. Architectural, Interior Design, Engineering
- Proficient with job cost accounting programs, preferably Deltek/Ajera
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Proactive and solutions-based approach to problem-solving
- Hands-on team player with a proven track record of effectively collaborating with senior leadership.
