Job DetailsJob Location: New York, NY 10027Position Type: Full-TimeEducation Level: High School Diploma/GEDSalary Range: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 HourlyJob Shift: Monday - Friday 9 AM - 5 PMThe Bridge offers supportive housing and behavioral health services to vulnerable New Yorkers facing behavioral health and substance use challenges. We provide individuals with the tools they need to pursue their dreams and live meaningful lives. The Bridge envisions a world where adults experiencing serious mental illness can live and thrive within their communities. As a recognized leader in developing and operating supportive housing and community-based programs, The Bridge has 70 years of experience helping New Yorkers with mental illness, including those affected by homelessness, incarceration, and institutionalization.

Scope of Position: The Intake Project Manager oversees the residential intake process for supportive housing programs, ensuring timely, accurate, and equitable placement of applicants in accordance with agency standards and Federal, State, and City regulations. This role manages the review and assessment of housing applications, conducts comprehensive applicant interviews, determines program eligibility and appropriate housing placement based on individual needs and program criteria, and coordinates admissions from referral through placement. The Intake Project Manager provides guidance and training to program leadership on intake policies and procedures, supervises intake staff, maintains the integrity of applicant records and tracking systems, collaborates with referring agencies and external partners, and facilitates applicant visits and admission documentation to support a seamless transition into housing.

Essential Position Functions

Manage incoming applications for supportive housing to determine applicants' eligibility for the agency's various residential programs.
Understand federal, state, and city policies and procedures related to prioritizing applicants, including those under Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) orders; individuals being discharged from state hospitals and forensic institutions; and individuals experiencing chronic homelessness.
Train Program Directors on the agency's residential intake and admission policies and procedures.
Supervise the Residential Intake Assistant and ensure the accuracy of housing applicant information maintained in intake logs and spreadsheets.
Communicate with referring agencies and community partners regarding applicant referrals and admissions.
Conduct in-depth interviews with housing applicants, either virtually or in person, at The Bridge offices and off-site locations, including state psychiatric centers, acute care hospitals, nursing homes, Residential Treatment Facilities for young adults, and other agencies where video teleconferences are conducted for interviews with incarcerated applicants.
Determine the most appropriate Bridge residential program(s) for applicants based on eligibility requirements and individual needs.
Coordinate and manage applicants' visits to residential housing programs.
Oversee the completion of initial admission paperwork, documentation, and records for new residents.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, individuals with psychiatric disorders, and/or individuals with substance use disorders required.
