Through farmers markets, nutrition education, and community partnerships, we work to advance food justice and improve health outcomes in neighborhoods across Philadelphia and beyond.
As a Community Nutrition Outreach Associate, you will help connect Philadelphia residents with healthy food resources and seasonal farmers markets through community outreach, education, and engagement.
What You’ll Do
Conducting outreach activities such as canvassing, flyering, tabling, and attending community events.
Building relationships with community organizations, health centers, senior centers, and neighborhood partners.
Supporting seasonal farmers market operations and assisting shoppers and vendors.
Sharing information about healthy food resources, nutrition programs, and Food Trust services.
Assisting with nutrition education activities and cooking demonstrations.
Supporting communications, promotional materials, and special events.
This position primarily supports programming in West, North, and Northeast Philadelphia.
Schedule: 15–25 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends. This temporary position begins in July 2026 and is expected to continue through September 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension based on funding.
QualificationsWhat You Bring
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of experience in community outreach, public health, food access, adult education, marketing, nonprofit work, or a related field.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to travel throughout Philadelphia and lift up to 50 pounds.
Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Access to reliable transportation with the ability to transport materials to locations.
Preferred
Experience with farmers markets, community engagement, or nutrition education.
Familiarity with SNAP and other public benefit programs.
Conversational or fluent Spanish and/or Mandarin.
