Teach two sections of Physical Education and Wellness classes.
Head Boys Basketball Coach with year-round and after-school responsibilities.
Assisting the athletic director with the following: AAA eligibility for athletes and coaches, communication and social media platforms, scheduling athletic transportation, coordinating events, and event supervision.
Serve on a grade-level team to support the socioemotional, academic, and intellectual development of students.
Participate in faculty and athletic program meetings.
Collaborate, plan, and facilitate Intensives (two week-long collaborative, hands-on, and interdisciplinary projects).
Take advantage of professional growth opportunities and present learning to the community.
Skills, Qualifications, and Attributes
Experience teaching Physical Education and Wellness at the appropriate grade levels.
Coaching experience, preferably in basketball.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
Experience partnering with other educators to create interdisciplinary learning experiences for students.
Ability to communicate high expectations and standards for student learning and well-being.
Understanding of and sensitivity to adolescent challenges.
Ability to think broadly and creatively about student-centered learning.
Commitment to providing candid and constructive feedback to students.
Commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion.
Ability to scope and sequence student learning experiences in collaboration with other faculty.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Arkansas Teaching Certification required.
Physical Requirements
Job frequently requires standing, walking, running, cycling on varying difficulty level trails and terrain, and handling objects with hands.
Team practices and travel to team races in the evenings and on weekends is required.
Some work is performed outside and may require exposure to changing weather conditions.
