The technologist performs direct patient care, monitors hemodynamic waveforms, and assists physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. They are also responsible for operating sophisticated radiologic equipment and maintaining inventory in a safe and responsible manner.
Requirements
Candidates must hold an Associate Degree in Radiologic Studies or have completed an approved Cardiovascular Technology program. Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and either ARRT or RCIS credentials.
Full job description
Performs and/or assists with direct patient care; performs sheath removal; performs, records and interprets hemodynamic waveforms and electrocardiograhic tracings. The position is responsible for monitoring and stocking inventory and assisting with patient transfer. The Technologist prepares, maintains and operates sophisticated radiologic equipment including cineangiographic, fluorographic, digital image recording, laser and electrophysiology equipment. in a safe and responsible manner. Assists physician in performing diagnostic and interventional, cardiac and peripheral catheterizations. Assists in the monitoring of quality control program.
Education Associates Degree : in Radiologic Studies (Required) Non Degree Program : Approved Cardiovascular Technology Program (Required) Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience 1 Year experience as a cardiac cath or interventional radiology technologist (Preferred)
License/Certifications ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Required) ARRT - Amer Reg Radiologic Technlgst (Required) or RCIS - Reg Cardio Invasive Specialist (Required) BLS - Basic Life Support (Required) _
