People & Project Manager – driving AI innovation in defence software

Lead high-impact teams and projects shaping the future of AI-powered defence software. In this role, you will build and inspire high-performance teams delivering world-class intelligence software – driving project delivery, developing talent and turning advanced AI capabilities into real-world impact for military forces around the world.

The role: leading teams and software project delivery
As People & Project Manager for SitaWare Insight, you will lead two product development teams and hold overall responsibility for both delivery and people leadership. The teams include data scientists, developers, architects, student workers and a Scrum master.

As the organisation continues to grow, you will play a key role in hiring and onboarding new colleagues while ensuring strong team performance, wellbeing and development – and the delivery of high-quality software.

Your teams will focus on two areas: one team will be strengthening SitaWare Insight’s current capabilities, while the other will explore and develop agentic AI for the platform.

In this role, you can look forward to:

• leading complex software deliveries with clear ownership of scope, timelines, budget, risk, stakeholder alignment, KPIs and reporting
• leading a dedicated Agentic AI product stream that brings agents and AI capabilities into SitaWare Insight
• building and leading high-performance Scrum teams rooted in Systematic values and a collaborative, inclusive culture
• coaching and developing your people while recruiting and onboarding new colleagues as the programme expands
• driving planning, prioritisation and continuous improvement to enable successful delivery across your teams and the wider programme

You should expect occasional travel to Copenhagen, approximately 5–10 days per year.

You will join the SitaWare Insight programme within Systematic’s Defence business unit. The programme brings together multiple teams across Aarhus and Copenhagen and is a well-established area with strong momentum and significant investment to support continued growth.

You will work alongside two other senior managers and become part of a strong, collaborative leadership team. The product is built on modern technologies, developed in an agile environment and shaped in close partnership with customers and product owners.

What you bring: strong leadership experience combined with software project delivery experience 
You bring solid experience in both project delivery and people leadership, combined with a track record of delivering complex software development projects. You understand that the strongest results are created by teams that are well-led, motivated and continuously improving.

We are also looking for:

• A relevant master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science or a similar IT-related field
• A proven track record of delivering complex agile software projects on time, on budget and to a high standard
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams of developers, data scientists and AI or machine-learning specialists, combined with strong leadership and coaching skills
• A structured, delivery-oriented approach with a strong drive to get things done
• A background in AI, machine learning or data science would be an advantage
• Project management qualifications, e.g. PMI/PMP, PRINCE2 or IPMA C/D
