Responsible for the care, preparation, and sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies according to AAMI standards. Maintains inventory levels and performs required testing of sterilizers to ensure OR readiness.
Requires a high school diploma, a Certified Sterile Processing Certificate, and current BCLS certification. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience as an instrument technician.
Salary Range: $16.50 - $26.00 per hour, based on skill and experience level.
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the care and preparation of surgical instruments and supplies according to AAMI standards. The technician maintains established inventory levels by checking supplies and equipment. Orders supplies for the area. The technician performs the appropriate testing of all sterilizers and keeps accurate records.
