Southwest Center is a nonprofit organization that provides services and supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the Louisville area. The mission of Southwest Center is to provide a supportive environment, combined with life-enriching home- and community-based opportunities, that assist people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living life to the fullest.

Charitable gaming is one of the ways Southwest Center generates funding to support its programs and services. The revenue generated through charitable gaming helps further our mission and supports the individuals and communities we serve.

About the Role
Southwest Center is seeking dependable and professional individuals to serve as Charitable Gaming Representatives. In this role, you will act as Southwest Center's designated on-site representative for charitable gaming operations, helping ensure a safe, compliant, and enjoyable gaming environment for patrons.

You will monitor gaming activities, verify patron eligibility, assist with basic gaming equipment issues, and help protect the integrity of Southwest Center's charitable gaming license. During assigned shifts, charitable gaming responsibilities are your primary focus and must be addressed immediately when issues arise.

Pay Rate
Starting Rate $16.00 hourly
w/Paid Training
 
Schedule
This is a PRN (as-needed) position. Shifts will vary based on operational needs and charitable gaming schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

Essential Responsibilities
  • Monitor charitable gaming operations during assigned shifts.
  • Verify that patrons participating in gaming activities are at least 21 years of age.
  • Maintain visual observation of the gaming area.
  • Ensure gaming activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and Southwest Center policies.
  • Report suspected violations, tampering, fraud, or other compliance concerns.
  • Assist patrons with basic gaming machine or kiosk questions.
  • Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism.
  • Represent Southwest Center positively and professionally at all times.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to pass required state and federal background checks.
  • Ability to complete all required charitable gaming training.
  • Ability to interact professionally with patrons, staff, regulators, and vendors.
  • Basic computer and technology skills.
  • Ability to responsibly handle cash and follow established procedures.

  • Strong observation and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and regulatory requirements.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to visually monitor gaming activities throughout the assigned area.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and move throughout the gaming area.
  • Ability to operate gaming equipment, kiosks, and point-of-sale systems.
