The engineer is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of particle accelerators and associated PET manufacturing equipment. This includes performing routine and emergency repairs on high-voltage and RF systems while ensuring compliance with radiation safety and quality assurance guidelines.
Candidates must have at least 2 years of cyclotron experience or an associate degree in a technical discipline, along with the ability to troubleshoot electronics to the component level. Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces under ionizing radiation exposure is required.

Title | Cyclotron Engineer I Department | Technical Services Reports To | Field Service Engineer Compensation | $90k - $100k Overview The Cyclotron-Support Engineer I is accountable for the safe and routine operation, maintenance, and repair of one or more particle accelerators in SOFIE’s PET radiopharmacy, which manufactures PET diagnostics under 21 CFR 212 guidelines. Additionally, the Cyclotron-Support Engineer I is responsibility for first-line troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of equipment associated with manufacturing, including manipulator arms, lead shielded hot cells, radiosynthesizers, etc. The individual should be capable of independent decision-making abilities for most cyclotron and facility situations and will be called upon to trouble shoot non-routine manufacturing concerns.
