Position Summary

The Junior Engineer supports the Engineering Department in developing technical drawings, coordinating with internal teams, and assisting in the preparation of shop drawings and fabrication details. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with 0–2 years of experience who are eager to learn window systems, construction processes, and Skyline standards. The role involves hands-on training, close mentorship, and exposure to engineering workflows.

Essential Functions

Interpret architectural details and drawings.
Assist in the preparation and revision of AutoCAD drawings.
Support senior engineers in shop drawing development.
Perform basic field measurements and documentation.
Create hand sketches and markups under supervision.
Maintain accurate project data and documentation.
Communicate effectively with Engineering, Project Management, and Sales teams.
Participate in training and apply learned standards.

QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong AutoCAD fundamentals.
Basic understanding of architectural and shop drawings.
Good Excel skills, including basic formulas and organization.
Basic construction and hand tool knowledge.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to learn quickly and follow direction.

Experience and Education

High School Diploma or GED.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
0–2 years of experience.
Window industry experience is a plus.
Metal panel/slab cover experience is a plus.
Curtain wall experience is a plus.
3D drawing ability is a plus.
Architectural façade experience is a plus.
Intermediate-level AutoCAD experience required.
