Non-Ferrous (NF) Scrap Inspector

Pay: $26.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking a Non-Ferrous Scrap Inspector to inspect, identify, and grade incoming non-ferrous scrap materials. This position plays an important role in ensuring materials are properly classified, free of prohibited items, and meet company quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and grade incoming non-ferrous scrap, including aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel, and other metals.
• Identify different grades and types of non-ferrous materials.
• Check loads for contamination, prohibited materials, and incorrectly identified scrap.
• Communicate material grades and discrepancies to customers, drivers, and yard personnel.
• Assist with sorting and directing materials to the appropriate processing or storage areas.
• Maintain accurate inspection and material records.
• Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Qualifications

• Previous scrap metal or recycling industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of non-ferrous metals and scrap grading strongly preferred.
• Ability to visually identify and differentiate various metals and grades.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
