Business Development Director
Sigma HomeCare is looking for a sharp, relationship-driven Business Development Representative to help grow our Private Pay Division across Wayne County.
This isn't a desk job, and it isn't a "wait for leads" role. Sigma needs someone who can get out into the community, build real relationships with hospitals, physicians, discharge planners, and care coordinators, and turn those relationships into consistent referral growth.
The role covers outreach, territory management, and relationship-building: roughly 40 in-person visits a week, facility presentations, community events, and ongoing follow-up with referral partners across hospitals, physician offices, rehab facilities, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and senior centers.
Key relationships to build and manage:
- Case Managers
- Social Workers
- Discharge Planners
- Directors of Nursing
- Rehabilitation Directors
- Care Coordinators
- Physicians and Practice Managers
The right person is highly personable, self-motivated, organized, persistent, and comfortable working independently in the field. They know how to turn a first conversation into a lasting referral partnership - and they track their territory closely enough to know exactly where the next opportunity is.
What success looks like: consistent outreach activity, growing referral relationships, and steady growth in private-pay census.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years in business development, healthcare sales, community outreach, or account management
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary plus monthly bonuses, performance-based bonuses, mileage reimbursement, paid time off, ongoing training, and real career growth as Sigma's private-pay division scales.
