Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud-native infrastructure to process sensor and ship data. Develop APIs and automate processes using DevOps principles to provide valuable insights for customers.

Bij Shipping Technology werken we elke dag aan het slimmer maken van de binnenvaart. Onze missie is om de sector duurzamer, veiliger en efficiënter te maken door slimme technologie toe te passen aan boord van schepen. Dat doen we met een enthousiast team van engineers, ML-engineers, front-end developers en collega’s met veel binnenvaart kennis.
Als Senior Data Engineer speel je een cruciale rol: jij zorgt dat de juiste data op het juiste moment beschikbaar is, van sensor tot dashboard. Je bouwt en onderhoudt de infrastructuur waarmee we alle data verwerken tot waardevolle inzichten voor onze klanten en partners.
Dit ga je doen:
Als Senior Data Engineer krijg je veel ruimte voor eigen initiatief en technische creativiteit. Jij bent verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerpen, bouwen en onderhouden van schaalbare data pipelines en systemen die onze core and future features mogelijk maken.
Je ontwikkelt robuuste data pipelines die sensor-, scheeps- en omgevingsdata verwerken. Bijvoorbeeld het ontsluiten van motordata van verschillende typen met verschillende protocollen, die vervolgens gestandaardiseerd en genormaliseerd moeten worden.
Je bouwt mee aan onze cloud-native infrastructuur;
Je automatiseert processen met behulp van DevOps principes;
Je houdt je bezig met de ontwikkeling van streaming data pipelines;
Samen met je collega’s bewaak en verbeter je onze datakwaliteit
Nieuwe API’s ontwikkelen en bestaande onderhouden om deze data te gebruiken in onze applicaties of te delen met derden.
Je werkt samen met een team van ervaren data engineers, waarin je altijd een sparringpartner vindt om complexe technische keuzes mee af te stemmen.
Dit ben jij
Opleiding: Je hebt wo werk- en denkniveau en bij voorkeur een afgeronde (wo-)opleiding in de richting van computer science, AI of een vergelijkbare opleiding;
Ervaring: Je bent al minimaal 4 jaar actief in een data gerelateerde functie. Je hebt al diverse organisaties gezien en in diverse teams gewerkt.
Vaardigheden:
Je hebt ervaring met de volgende programma’s/ technieken:
Python, SQL (low level talen als C en Rust zijn een pré)
Software testing
Linux (netwerk kennis (firewalls, routing, VPN, SSH zijn een pre)
(REST) API’s (gRPC is een pré)
Event Streaming systems (Kafka or similar)
CI/CD
Kubernetes en Docker
Ervaring met een cloud platform zoals GCP, AWS, of Azure
Je spreekt en schrijft vloeiend Nederlands (C1/C2 niveau) en Engels
