About the Role:

The Machine Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by efficiently operating and maintaining various production machinery to ensure high-quality output. This position requires precision and attention to detail to handle assembly line tasks, operate press machines, and manage overhead cranes safely. The operator will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and monitoring machines such as mold machines and band saws to meet production specifications. Additionally, the role involves performing routine maintenance, deburring finished parts, and using measuring tools like micrometers to verify product accuracy. Ultimately, the Machine Operator contributes to the smooth and continuous flow of production while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Responsibilities:

• Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications.

• Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.

• Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications. (first piece/last piece, Hour part check)

• Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces. (Tally sheets, Vorne Data entry, Hour by Hour boards)

• Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments.

• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area. (5S and Cleaning Sheets)

• Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.

• Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.

• Loading/unloading and inventorying material 

• Following Escalation Process

• Deburring, Clipping, Stapling, Welding, Rework, Packing

• Assisting with changeovers 

• Performs other related duties as assigned by Elastomer leadership. 

Skills:

The required skills such as operating assembly lines, press machines, and overhead cranes are essential for managing the daily flow of production and ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently. Proficiency with production machinery, including mold machines and band saws, allows the operator to set up and adjust equipment to meet precise manufacturing requirements. Deburring skills are used to refine parts and maintain product quality, while the use of micrometers ensures dimensional accuracy through precise measurement. Operating clamp trucks facilitates the safe movement of heavy components, supporting overall workflow. Preferred skills like reading technical drawings and troubleshooting enhance the operator's ability to maintain equipment and address issues proactively, contributing to continuous production improvement.
