What started as a grassroots movement now operates across the country—moving nearly 2 million pounds of
food every week, over 100 million pounds annually, to thousands of community partners nationwide.
Our work is visionary, impactful, and deeply human. We move quickly, think creatively, and operate like a
high-growth startup—with the heart of a grassroots movement. From building custom technology to
rethinking the food supply chain, we’re actively reshaping how food reaches communities.
If you're looking for a career with purpose—where your daily efforts make the world a better place—look no
further than team SE.

Role Summary:
As the Warehouse Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the SE warehouse operation in the
Wholesale Market area. You will manage daily activities ensuring smooth and efficient food rescue and
redistribution processes. This includes coordinating with a dedicated team of warehouse associates and
volunteers to manage the flow of incoming and outgoing food donations.

Duties & Responsibilities:
● Help oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with safety, cleanliness, and sanitation
protocols.
● Monitor and manage inventory, track food donations, and maintain accurate records using
appropriate systems.
● Help to coordinate vehicle logistics for food pickups and deliveries, including scheduling and route
planning.
● Ensure timely and efficient loading and unloading of trucks upon arrival and departure.
● Assist in developing and following best practices for warehouse efficiency and compost waste
handling.
● Collaborate with warehouse associates and volunteers to streamline workflows and maximize
productivity.
● Inspect incoming produce to ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards.
● Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment on a daily basis.
● Perform physical warehouse tasks, including moving and building produce pallets for distribution.
● Support composting operations by ensuring daily availability of compost bins and assisting with
compost bin waste disposal.
● Organize and rotate inventory using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
● Assist with onboarding and training of new warehouse associates and volunteers.
● Maintain and grow professional relationships with the vendors in the market.

Qualifications:
● 1-3 Years of previous experience in warehouse operations or logistics strongly preferred.
● Familiarity with food safety handling practices and regulations.
● Effective team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
● Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with fast-paced, physical work.
● Experience operating pallet jacks; rider jack experience required.
● Forklift certification is a plus (or ability to become certified).
● Must have reliable transportation to the warehouse (location not accessible via public transit).

Physical Requirements:
● Able to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
● Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
● Comfortable with repetitive physical movements such as bending, lifting, and reaching.
● Comfortable working in cooler temperature-controlled environments.
● Daily use of pallet jack required.
● Must be able to obtain forklift certification.

Compensation & Benefits:
● Starting wage: 23.50 per hour
● Paid Time Off (PTO)
● Fully paid comprehensive health benefits after 90 days
● A mission-driven, supportive team culture focused on community impact

Work Schedule:
● Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm (varies by market)
● Occasional flexibility required for early mornings or later evenings as needed.
Note: This job description is not designed to cover all activities, duties, or responsibilities required for this
role. Duties may change or evolve as needed.

Please note, the duties outlined in this description are not exhaustive, and additional tasks may be assigned as
needed to support the organization's goals.
