The Field Service Engineer will execute the assembly, integration, and testing of ship-specific system hardware and cabling during new installations and upgrades. They will also coordinate with stakeholders and document support tasks using Jira while representing the government on high-priority shipboard projects.
Candidates must have experience with ship-specific hardware assembly and testing, as well as a working knowledge of radio frequency equipment. A TS/SCI security clearance is required, and CompTIA Security+ certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
The Ship's Signal Exploitation Equipment (SSEE) Program is the Navy's Flagship Signal's Intelligence (SIGINT) system; installed on U.S. Navy ships, and Coast Guard platforms. NIWC Atlantic is the In-Service Engineering Agency (ISEA) responsible for lifecycle support, from development through transition. This support includes; but is not limited to; engineering, requirements analysis, testing, technical writing, fleet technical support, training, procurement, configuration management, production, warehousing, drafting and repair. This support, ultimately, is designed to ensure the deployed SSEE systems and Navy operators are positioned for success against our Nation's adversaries.
Candidates for this position will work in a team setting and report to the Project Manager while performing the following responsibilities:
