Tissue Processing Specialist - Eye Bank

Kickstart your career in healthcare and make a real impact restoring sight

Location: Kansas City, MO
Schedule: Sunday–Wednesday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Training schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: $24.65/hour + excellent benefits

Are you a recent graduate or currently pursuing a degree in a health or science-related field? This is a unique, hands-on opportunity to gain real laboratory experience while contributing to a meaningful mission-helping restore sight through eye donation.

You'll build valuable skills in lab techniques, sterile processing, and tissue evaluation-all while working alongside experienced professionals in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

What You'll Do

  • Work in a lab setting to evaluate, process, and prepare donated corneal tissue for transplant
  • Use microscopes and specialized equipment to assess tissue quality
  • Prepare and ship tissue to surgeons, helping restore vision to patients
  • Accurately document and track donor and tissue information
  • Maintain a clean, organized lab space and assist with equipment sterilization
  • Support inventory management and participate in quality improvement efforts
