The engineer will develop control system hardware requirements and oversee the mechanical design and analysis of components through the project lifecycle. This includes managing external suppliers and coordinating with internal teams to ensure technical, cost, and schedule requirements are met.
Candidates must be US Citizens with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 1+ years of experience, or a Master's/PhD. Preferred qualifications include experience with NPI, environmental testing standards (DO-160/MIL-STD-810), and the ability to obtain a US DOD security clearance.
The Mechanical Control Units Design Engineer will develop control system hardware requirements, then guide Rolls-Royce approved suppliers through the detailed design process to ensure that delivered hardware meets all technical and program requirements. The role will span the project lifecycle from requirements definition, concept development, detail component design, validation, and verification testing through final production release. The Design Engineer will interface with both the external suppliers and the internal engine program teams.
