We currently have an opportunity for an Electrician at our Richardson Port Terminal located in North Vancouver, BC. This is an opportunity to work at one of the most successful grain handling facilities in the world, which exports canola and cereal grains to countries along the Pacific Rim. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanical Tradesman - Electrician will provide journeyman level skill for the repair and maintenance of plant equipment in a heavy industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
Installs, modifies, repairs and maintains electrical circuits, devices and equipment
Troubleshoots and diagnoses electrical and control equipment
Participates in training related to this position
Operates in accordance with health, safety, and fire prevention regulations and practices
Provides assistance to other Maintenance team members
Responds to after-hours emergency calls on a rotational basis
Qualifications:
Requirements
Electrician ticket with Red Seal
Journeyman Electrician Certificate or Inter-provincial certification under the Red Seal Program
Minimum 3 years of experience as an Electrician in a heavy industrial environment
Strong skills in reading and interpretation of electrical schematics/logic drawings
Knowledge of automated systems and suppliers
Must be capable of lifting and stacking 50 lbs without assistance
Demonstrated organizational skills and personal initiative
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
Excellent documentation, communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient computer skills .eg.. MS Word/Excel, etc
Strong work ethic and a proven safety record
Ability to work in conditions such as confined spaces, heights, dust, and temperature extremes
Ability to work shift work on a rotational schedule including days, evenings, and graveyard
Asset
Diploma of Technology
Strong IT background
Networking experience (Ethernet, Profibus and Modbus)
Programming experience (Ti-Soft, Step 7, WinCC)
Any other mechanical trades, fabricator would be considered an asset
