Responsibilities

The Facilities Technician is responsible for lawn care, building maintenance, and supporting the maintenance department in overall facility operations. Key duties include preventative maintenance on equipment, facility repairs, and adhering to sanitation and safety standards.

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with previous facility maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Candidates should be familiar with ISO 9001, OSHA, GMP, and HACCP standards.

The Facilities Technician is responsible for lawn care to include maintenance of such lawn care equipment, building maintenance and any other support to the maintenance department as directed by the Maintenance Manager in support of the overall operation of the facility.

Essential Functions

· Provides helper assistance to the maintenance personnel in installing, cleaning and moving of production equipment.

· Responsible for travel to parts vendor locations to pick-up ordered parts. Travel will include travel to other cities.

· Responsible for preventative maintenance on company lawn equipment, bobcat, tractor and flat-bed trailers as assigned.

· Responsible for maintaining building facility duties such as changing light bulbs, washing and changing out floor mats, changing air filters, troubleshooting and repairing the sprinkler system, scrap loose paint from ceilings in production areas, hauling excess waste to waste facility and other scheduled facility maintenance tasks as assigned.

· Maintain sanitation/cleaning schedules.

· Respond to the needs of the workforce in a positive and productive manner.

· Perform tasks according to the current AIB Manual, as applicable to this industry.

· Follow all safety and environmental policies.

· Assist as needed with confined space entry.

· Responsible to follow all good manufacturing practices, applicable HAACP principles, laws and statutory regulations.

· Perform all job duties within company guidelines, policies, standards and specifications as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, competency, and/or ability required. Knowledge and Experience

· High School Diploma or GED preferred

· Previous facility maintenance in a manufacturing environment preferred.

· Familiarity with ISO 9001, OSHA, GMP and HACCP.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required to hear and talk; regularly required to sit, stand and walk; occasionally required to climb staircases, ramps or similar building structures; occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally required to carry up to 50 pounds for a distance of 25 feet; occasionally required to make repeated movements; specific vision abilities include color, ability to see up-close and to see from a distance.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Personal protective equipment is available when required or requested. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work indoors and outdoors. The employee is regularly exposed to dust/dirt, loud noise, pesticides, pests and/or rodents and odors or fumes. The employee may be exposed to extreme heat, confined space and poor lighting. The employee may work in an elevated workplace, must be able to climb ladders to a height of 35 feet and will regularly be exposed to mechanical, electrical and fire hazards.
