Full job description
What you'll do
As a Product Owner in Regnology, you will be part of our Austrian product team, focused on the regulatory reporting needs of financial institutions in the Austrian market. You will work with an engineering-focused team delivering complex technical features across ongoing product maintenance and our strategic migration initiative. Your role is to provide clear prioritization and direction for the team, ensure timely handling of customer issues, and drive delivery against agreed milestones. Beyond your core Product Owner responsibilities, you will also take on cross-team organizational and project management tasks to support the broader initiative. Your key accountabilities are:
Own and prioritize the team backlog, balancing maintenance obligations and migration workstreams with customer-driven deliverables
Contribute to release planning by defining what your team can realistically deliver across maintenance and migration releases, feeding into a cross-team release plan
Collaborate closely with solution architects and tech leads to translate architectural decisions and migration strategies into actionable user stories and sprint goals
Manage stakeholder communication across different internal departments - including contribution to management reporting and roadmap updates
Drive transparency on delivery risks, blockers, and team-level dependencies; maintain a clear view of team capacity and velocity
Coordinate with Customer Support on SLA adherence, ticket prioritization, and proactive escalation management
Support the Head of Software Development on organizational and PMO tasks across the Austrian initiative — including deputizing in meetings, preparing reporting and presentations, routing cross-functional requests, and tracking open action items to closure
Act as a coordination point for cross-team topics and ad-hoc escalations, ensuring issues are addressed by the right people and relevant stakeholders are kept informed
Actively promote and facilitate the use of AI tools within the team — identifying opportunities to leverage AI for productivity gains and ensuring the team has the guidance needed to apply them effectively
Why we should decide on you
3–5 years of experience as a Product Owner
Business-fluent German and English — essential for client-facing work in the Austrian market and for internal international collaboration
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex topics
Strong organizational & communication skills
Collaborative mindset with a sense of responsibility and trustworthiness
Technical curiosity and the ability to engage with engineering teams on eye level — understanding concepts like APIs, data structures, and system integration
Would be an advantage:
Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar
Familiarity with agile methodologies
Adaptability: Ability to adjust to evolving business requirements and suggest improvements
