What You’ll Be Doing

We're looking for an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our Christchurch team.

This is a service-focused role working across a variety of commercial sites throughout Christchurch and surrounding areas. You'll be responsible for preventative maintenance, fault-finding, repairs, breakdown response, and servicing a wide range of HVAC equipment, including VRV/VRF systems, chillers, air handling units, heat pumps, ventilation systems, and associated controls.

No two days are the same. You'll work with a broad range of clients and equipment, giving you plenty of variety, autonomy, and opportunities to continue developing your technical skills.

You'll also have opportunities to support system upgrades, plant replacements, commissioning, and improvement projects while working alongside a skilled and supportive HVAC team.

Safety is a key part of everything we do. You'll be expected to follow company and client Health & Safety procedures at all times and maintain the high standards our customers expect.

What the Role Involves

• HVAC servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)Breakdown response and repairs
• Mechanical and electrical diagnostics
• Servicing commercial HVAC and ventilation systems
• Supporting upgrades, plant replacements, and commissioning works
• Completing job documentation and reporting through Simpro
• Participating in the after-hours on-call roster
• Building strong relationships with customers and delivering excellent service

What We’re Looking For

• Trade qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and/or at least 3+ years' practical HVAC experience
• Current EWRB Electrical Service Technician (EST) Registration and Practising Licence
• Full New Zealand Driver Licence
• Refrigerant Fillers Licence or willingness to obtain
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience servicing and maintaining commercial HVAC systems
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
• Strong commitment to Health & Safety and quality workmanship
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
