Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School (PVPA) provides students with a supportive and challenging environment that is responsive to multiple learning styles, emphasizes learning through the arts and integrates critical and creative thinking throughout the curriculum.  PVPA prepares all of our students for higher education by employing a rigorous, standards-based curriculum in a nurturing and collaborative environment.  We are looking for individuals that are flexible, reliable and committed to facilitating learning in the absence of the classroom teacher.

Primary Functions:

• Reports to school office 15 minutes prior to first assignment of the day to pick up required materials/schedule of classes.
• Carries out a program of study prescribed in the lesson plans left by classroom teachers.
• Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Maintains a safe and orderly classroom.
• Takes attendance in accordance with school procedures.
• Insures that the students are never left unattended in the classroom.
• Follows emergency and safety procedures.
• Follows school procedures and regulations.
• Writes daily memos to teachers reporting on lesson plan and students.
• Writes disciplinary reports to Dean of Students, as needed.
• Performs other related duties as directed.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with middle and high school students
• CORI/SORI and fingerprint check
