Praetorian Power Protection is seeking an experienced, high-caliber Commissioning Engineer - Electrical to serve as the ultimate governing authority for all energy-related safety, isolation, and execution planning on a major critical infrastructure project.
In this role, you will own the site-wide safety landscape for energized work. Your mission is to develop a fully coordinated execution plan, enforce strict LOTO and permit compliance, and ensure zero unsafe energization or isolation events as we progress through complex commissioning and construction phases. If you are a decisive leader who thrives in high-stakes, mission-critical environments, we want you on our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Leadership & Program Governance
Authority to Stop Work: Act as the ultimate authority to stop unsafe work, enforce safe execution of all energized work, and drive immediate corrective actions.
LOTO Program Ownership: Own the implementation, governance, and site-wide standards of the Energy Isolation (LOTO) program.
Permit-to-Work Governance: Manage and enforce all energy-related permitting processes, ensuring absolutely no work proceeds without proper authorization and safeguards.
- Execution Planning & Phasing
Develop the Master Plan: Create and manage the project's Energy Control Execution Plan, aligning energization, isolation, and LOTO strategies with project phasing and commissioning sequences.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate directly with trade partners, commissioning teams, and construction management to ensure the execution plan is safe, buildable, properly sequenced, and continuously updated for evolving field conditions.
- Field Compliance & Assurance
Field Audits: Perform active field verifications and audits of active LOTO and energized work zones to ensure documented plans perfectly match real-time field conditions.
Contractor & Quality Oversight: Monitor contractor performance, drive accountability for deviations or non-conformances, and ensure strict alignment with project safety, commissioning, and quality standards.
- Training, Risk & Incident Management
Training & Competency: Deliver targeted training on energy isolation procedures, ensuring all personnel are highly qualified to perform energized and isolated work safely.
Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and mitigate hazards associated with energized systems through rigorous planning and defined controls.
Incident Investigation: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for energy-related incidents and near-misses—leading root cause analyses and driving corrective actions to closure.
Documentation: Maintain precise, auditable records of all LOTO activities, permits, isolation plans, and inspections to ensure corporate and regulatory compliance.
