An Electrician specializing in Generator Installation is responsible for installing, wiring, maintaining, and servicing backup power systems for residential properties. The Electrician diagnoses and troubleshoots system issues, verifies proper load distribution, and ensures reliable generator performance during power outages.

In addition to technical responsibilities, the Electrician collaborates with the other roles on the installation teams to deliver efficient, code-compliant generator installations. This position emphasizes safety, precision, and customer satisfaction, ensuring each system provides dependable backup power when needed.

Work Location & Schedule:

Our warehouse is located at:

Team members typically begin their workday by arriving at the warehouse around 6:30 AM to prepare for the day. This includes reviewing job assignments, loading materials and equipment, confirming project details, and ensuring all necessary tools and safety gear are ready.

After morning preparation, crews travel in company vehicles to scheduled job sites to complete installations and service work. Workdays may vary depending on project scope and customer needs, but punctuality and preparedness are essential to maintaining our high standards of service and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation: Skillfully install residential backup generators in compliance with manufacturer specifications, local electrical codes, and safety guidelines.
  • Site Assessment: Conduct thorough on-site assessments to determine the most suitable location for the generator, considering factors such as proximity to the main electrical panel, noise considerations, fuel sources, and proper ventilation.
  • Electrical Connections: Connect the generator to the main electrical panel through an automatic transfer switch (ATS) or manual transfer switch, ensuring correct wiring, load balancing, and circuit protection.
  • Mechanical Assembly: Assemble and install generator components, including engines, alternators, exhaust systems, and fuel systems, following manufacturer guidelines and best practices.
  • Fuel Source Integration: Integrate the generator with the appropriate fuel source, such as natural gas lines or propane tanks, and ensure efficient fuel delivery to the generator system.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Thoroughly test and commission the generator to ensure it functions reliably, automatically starts during power outages, and supplies the required power to essential circuits.
  • Client Education: Educate homeowners about the generator's operation, maintenance requirements, and emergency procedures. Address any client inquiries and concerns regarding the system.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, repairs, and client interactions. Complete necessary paperwork and reports for both clients and internal use.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety protocols, electrical codes, and relevant regulations to ensure the safety of yourself, clients, and team members.
