Position Title: Senior Direct Support Professional

Job Purpose: The Senior Direct Support Professional plays a vital role in enhancing the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position involves supervising and ensuring the delivery of quality services, supporting the implementation of Individual Service Plans, and providing leadership within the team. The Senior Director Support Professional mentors staff, promotes continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with legal, contractual, and accreditation standards.

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET
• Age 18 with a valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Successful background screen
• Eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Must possess, maintain, and operate a personal electronic device for the purpose of communication, two-factor authentication, and tracking hours worked.
• Experience working in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities, with a strong understanding of Individual Support Plan implementation, billing, and previous completion of Direct Support Professional III training curriculum.
• Ability to supervise and mentor a team, guiding staff to meet organizational goals and provide high-quality support.
• General comprehension and the principles of the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services Home and Community Based Services rule.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals served, staff, families, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to address complex situations and challenges, providing creative solutions to improve the quality of services.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks, ensuring high standards of care and service delivery.
• Maintain required trainings and related certifications.

• Guide and supervise Direct Support Professionals in implementing Individualized strategies, ensuring effective and individualized care for each person served.
• Lead and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives, ensuring services are delivered in a way that maximizes outcomes for individuals served.
• Ensure adherence to all legal, contractual, and accreditation requirements (PCBS Policy, DMH, CARF, & HIPAA).
• Mentor and provide support to Direct Support Professionals, offering training, guidance, and feedback to improve performance and enhance the quality of care provided.
• Advocate for the rights, needs, and preferences of individuals served, promoting their self-determination, independence, and overall well-being.
• Maintenance and supervision of electronic records related to service delivery.

• Ability to work through disagreements with honesty and transparency fostering a trusting environment.
• Collaboratively works with Direct Support Professionals, Professional Mangers, Quality Assurance Specialist to develop and implement person-centered outcomes and goals.
• Works with Professional Managers to develop equitable caseloads and transportation routes.
Secondary Functions:
• Reports facility and vehicle maintenance/safety needs
• Attends all meetings and agency functions as required.
• Handles all other additional responsibilities as needed and required
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
• Extended periods of standing and walking, with some sitting.
• Regular lifting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, or bending as appropriate.
• Possibility of physical intervention as trained in CPI if confronted by a person displaying combative or potentially dangerous behavior.
• Will require periods of driving agency vehicles.
• May require the administration of chest compressions and rescue breaths as trained in CPR.
• Noise from persons served, office machines, appliances, and telephones.
• Will have substantial use of video display terminal.
• Possibility of exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other communicable diseases.
