Summary:
Pfannenberg is currently seeking an Application Engineer to understand customer needs and recommend tailored solutions while supporting all phases of the sales process in close collaboration with sales, engineering, and operations to ensure complete customer satisfaction. This role requires the ability to translate complex technologies into clear, easy-to-understand communication for non-technical audiences, while confidently engaging in detailed technical discussions with engineers at all levels. The Application Engineer will document and share unique application success stories for training and marketing purposes to help generate new business opportunities. Acting as the voice of the customer, this individual will play a key role in enhancing the overall customer experience and driving continuous improvement. Working closely with Product Management, the Application Engineer will lead and contribute to cross-functional initiatives that support business growth, leveraging an engineering background to make impactful individual contributions while providing leadership through influence to ensure project success.
Responsibilities
Provide recommendations and technical guidance to customers, channel partners, and the sales team on application-related matters.
Maintain strong product expertise and in-depth knowledge to effectively support the commercial team and customers.
Develop and deliver technical training programs for sales partners, channel partners, and end users.
Participate in the development and maintenance of technical content for the company website.
Lead competitive benchmarking initiatives, including product testing and thorough documentation of results.
Represent the company in trade organizations and industry associations, staying current on market trends and developments.
Author technical articles and white papers on relevant subjects to contribute to the industry and differentiate Pfannenberg.
Prepare comprehensive technical proposals, including system design for thermal management and signalling solutions (e.g., process chillers, heat exchangers, cooling units, sounder).
Coordinate activities with internal teams, vendors, external consultants, and customers to ensure successful project execution.
Partner with engineering and cross-functional teams on product development, customer feedback, testing, and cost considerations aligned with sales potential.
As needed, assume project management responsibilities to plan, scope, and oversee local and global projects, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
Qualification
Associate degree in Engineering or equivalent experience/knowledge
2+ years’ experience in technical support or sales role, and project management familiarity is a plus
Experience with industrial refrigeration, fluid cooling systems and/or logic controls (PLC) is a plus
Computer Skills: MS Office. Navision, Salesforce, SAP and LabVIEW are a plus
