Providing nursing services in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) programs including but not limited to:
Physical Assessments
Treatment planning Timely documentation Coordination of medical treatments Medication administration Monitoring of health status of individuals Teaching and assisting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Home and Community Based (HCS) Texas Home Living Waiver (TxHmL) and Intermediate Care for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (ICF-IDD) programs Understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of all types of trauma, and an ability to work in a behavioral environment where staff convey dignity, respect, hopefulness, and the opportunity for choice and empowerment among consumers After hours and weekend on-call work required. Qualifications Licensed to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in Texas. Experience working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities preferred Must be at least 18 years of age Have a Texas driver’s license Have a good driving record for the past three years Have a valid auto insurance card.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Must be able to pass a job related physical. Able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, lift 25 pounds and reach overhead.
