The Advisor provides expertise and guidance to Olympic and Paralympic sports regarding the implementation and assessment of performance sciences, research, and innovation. They also support national sporting organizations in developing research plans, monitoring projects, and translating findings into actionable insights.
Candidates must hold a PhD or Master’s degree in Kinesiology, Engineering Sciences, or a related field. Additionally, they require 3 to 5 years of experience in a high-performance sport environment or 5 years of experience in applied research within the sport sector.

Location: Fully remote within Canada and some domestic travel may be required. Must be flexible for evening/weekend commitments as needed.

Scope of Position:
Reporting to the Vice-President, Performance Sciences, Research & Innovation (PSRI), the Advisor, PSRI, provides expertise, assistance, and guidance to targeted Olympic and Paralympic sports in the ongoing implementation and assessment of performance sciences service delivery. In addition, the individual will provide guidance to national sporting organizations regarding the development of applied sport research projects and engage in monitoring of targeted projects. This position is highly collaborative with its partners and colleagues to ensure performance sciences, research and innovation deliverables are aligned with the objectives of the national sporting organization.

Relevant du vice-président, Sciences de la performance, recherche et innovation (SPRI), le conseiller ou la conseillère, SPRI, fournit son expertise, son soutien et ses conseils aux sports olympiques et paralympiques ciblés dans le cadre de la mise en œuvre et de l’évaluation continues des services en sciences de la performance.
De plus, la personne titulaire du poste fournit des conseils aux organismes nationaux de sport (ONS) dans l’élaboration de projets de recherche appliquée au sport et assure le suivi des projets ciblés. Ce poste exige une étroite collaboration avec les partenaires et les collègues afin de veiller à ce que les livrables en matière de sciences de la performance, de recherche et d’innovation soient alignés sur les objectifs de l’organisme national de sport.

Own the Podium is an innovative and collaborative initiative without precedent in Canadian sport. It was created to bring together the key parties involved in leading and funding excellence in Canadian sport, with specific emphasis on achieving excellence at Summer and Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. Own the Podium makes recommendations to national funding parties on the amount of resources allocated to targeted winter and summer national sport organizations, Canadian Sport Centres, innovation and research, and other needed programs. Own the Podium also monitors the implementation of the targeted National Sport Organizations’ high-performance programs to ensure maximum performance results and intervenes where necessary. À nous le podium est une initiative de collaboration d'avant-garde sans précédent dans le sport au Canada. Elle a été créée dans le but de réunir les partenaires clés engagés dans l'encadrement et le financement de l'excellence dans le sport au Canada et de mettre l'accent sur l'excellence aux Jeux olympiques et paralympiques d'été et d'hiver.
