About Overaa
Overaa Construction has been building the Bay Area since 1907. As a fifth-generation family-owned builder, we self-perform critical scopes of work and deliver projects across commercial, healthcare, education, life science, water, industrial, energy, and transportation markets.
Senior Superintendent
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Superintendent to lead field execution on high-value, technically demanding projects. This is a senior field leadership role for someone who has run ground-up commercial and industrial work from start to finish and who can set the standard for safety, quality, and schedule on every project they touch.
This is a career hire. The right candidate will lead a sustained pipeline of meaningful work and grow into a key field leader within the organization — not a single assignment, but a long-term seat with a respected builder.
Responsibilities:
- Lead total field execution from mobilization through closeout and warranty — safety, quality, schedule, productivity, logistics, and field cost.
- Serve as the on-site face of Overaa to clients, design teams, inspectors, and authorities having jurisdiction, managing those relationships with professionalism and no surprises.
- Develop, own, and drive the master and short-interval (look-ahead) schedules in coordination with the project team; hold the field accountable to the plan and lead recovery when needed.
- Implement and enforce a visible, non-negotiable site safety program and culture.
- Manage subcontractors and self-perform trades — scope coordination, manpower loading, sequencing, productivity tracking, and quality of installed work.
- Coordinate inspections, material procurement, and subcontractor sequencing to support project milestones.
- Create and maintain site logistics plans that support safe, efficient project execution.
- Execute the project quality control program, including pre-installation meetings, inspections, punch, commissioning support, and turnover documentation.
- Track field productivity and cost, identify and forecast impacts, and support the Project Manager on change management and schedule discipline.
- Mentor and develop Assistant Superintendents, Foremen, and Field Engineers, raising the capability of the field team.
Required Qualifications:
- 15+ years of progressive field supervision experience in commercial and/or industrial construction, with a clear track record as the Lead Superintendent on completed projects.
- Start-to-finish ground-up experience with demonstrated ownership through site work, foundations, structure, MEP, finishes, commissioning, and closeout.
- Experience serving as the Lead Superintendent on ground-up commercial, industrial, healthcare, utility, or public works projects of substantial size and complexity.
- Schedule command — fluent in CPM scheduling and short-interval planning; able to build, drive, and recover a schedule rather than simply report on it.
- Safety leadership with a proven record of safe project delivery; OSHA 30 minimum.
- Sophisticated client management experience supporting institutional, public agency, healthcare, industrial, mission-critical, or utility clients.
- Strong command of civil, structural, and MEP systems; able to read and coordinate complex drawings and resolve constructability issues in the field.
- Proficiency with Procore (or equivalent) and digital field tools, including mobile-based daily reporting, RFIs, and documentation.
Preferred:
- Experience delivering projects for utility owners such as PG&E, public agencies, industrial manufacturers, or energy providers is highly desirable.
- Experience working with high-voltage or heavy electrical scopes including substations, switchgear, transmission, utility infrastructure, or energy facilities.
- Experience coordinating utility owners, AHJs, commissioning teams, shutdowns, tie-ins, and complex operational interfaces.
- Experience supervising self-perform structural concrete, site work, or craft labor operations.
- Familiarity with utility or public agency standards, inspection requirements, and coordination protocols.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Knowledge of SWPPP, environmental compliance, LEED, and sustainability practices.
Education & Credentials:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent field experience weighted equally.
- OSHA 30 required.
- OSHA 510/500, CPR/First Aid, and trade-specific safety certifications are a plus.
