The Senior Automation & Electrical Engineer will lead the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of automation and electrical systems within a steel manufacturing environment. This role involves driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, process efficiency, and safety while mentoring technical staff.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Automated Manufacturing Engineering. A minimum of 7 years of experience in heavy industrial electrical and automation engineering is required.
Rocky Mountain Steel Mills is seeking a Senior Automation & Electrical Engineer to join our team in Pueblo, Colorado. As a key member of the maintenance organization, this role is responsible for improving the availability, reliability, and utilization of electrical and automation systems to support the production and shipment of high-quality steel products. The Senior Automation & Electrical Engineer will develop and implement innovative solutions to enhance steel manufacturing processes, optimize equipment performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This position collaborates closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and other plant departments to identify opportunities for improvement, resolve technical challenges, and ensure safe, efficient, and consistent operations. The successful candidate will lead efforts to implement sustainable solutions that improve equipment reliability, process efficiency, and product quality while supporting rolling mills, steelmaking production, and maintenance operations within a highly automated steel manufacturing environment.
