The specialist leads the infection prevention and control program for medical and dental services to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Key duties include developing policies, conducting HAI surveillance, and overseeing regulatory compliance for dental unit waterlines and sterilizers.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, or Microbiology with 3-5 years of experience in infection control. Mandatory certifications include CIC, a Dental Board of California approved 8-hour course, and valid CPR/BLS.
