Overview
Oversees the administration and daily operation of corporate facility locations and outlying branch locations. Responsibilities include facilities, grounds, construction projects, budgeting, reporting, task forces, communications liaison, planning committees and process improvement. Manages a staff of employees in the maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment.
Responsibilities
The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the duties and responsibilities performed within this classification. It is not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. Coordinates, oversees and manages facilities staff and vendor services that provide repairs and maintenance of building systems
Reviews construction projects for completion ensuring that standards and quality are met
Estimates costs related to layout design regarding equipment and materials, and labor and monitor the construction process
Ensures that established efficiency and safety targets are met
Researches production/processing equipment or fixtures for purchase and gathers data relating to their ability to meet organizational needs
Reviews maintenance records and schedules as required
Participates with state, federal, insurance and regulatory inspections
Oversees access control and building control regarding assigned area of responsibility
Ensures performance planning, coaching, and evaluations occur per policy; recommends pay adjustments and promotions
Available for after hour emergency response
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years’ experience with facilities or commercial construction management to include contractor/vendor management with supervisory experience; and/or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Knowledgeable of building codes, safety regulations, construction, blueprints, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural and mechanical systems.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND DESIGNATIONS
Valid Florida Driver’s license; clean driving record required. Certification in Building Maintenance, BOMA Foundations of Real Estate Management or International Facility Management Association (IFMA) preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of facilities management fundamentals, construction methods, machines and tools, architectural and engineering drawings
Knowledge of facility maintenance planning, property inventory methods, facility condition inspection and assessment methods
Knowledge of statements or scopes of work, acquisition and contracting procedures, and building codes
Knowledge of service contracts, contractor performance evaluations, facility warranty agreements, and physical plant operation
Knowledge of health and safety practices and procedures, environmental safety practices and procedures.
Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
Skill in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
