Full job description

Who You Are:

You are a natural connector; someone who moves fluidly between the rhythm of the business and the heartbeat of its people. With a deep understanding of organizational dynamics, ideally shaped by experience in the fast-moving world of consumer-packaged goods, you know that great companies are built when the right people are supported in the right ways at the right moments. You read organizational landscapes intuitively, spotting where teams need structure, where individuals need a champion, and where the business needs a thought partner. Whether you're navigating a complex team dynamic with care and discretion, partnering with department leaders to design their teams, or opening doors for employees ready to grow into their next opportunity, you bring both strategic clarity and genuine humanity to everything you do. You don't just sit at the table, you help others find their seat at it.

The Task At Hand:

The People Business Partner, Commercial and Operations is Once Upon a Farm’s primary HR point of contact for employees and managers at the Sr. Director level and below across the Marketing, Sales, and Operations functions. This role will translate P&C strategy into day-to-day business practice, infuse O’Farm culture across functions, own support for managers and employees in the performance management process, and broker seamlessly across Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, and HR Operations.

In This Role, You Will:

Provide Business Partnership

  • Build trusted relationships with managers across client groups; coach on leadership effectiveness, team health, and org design with the functions.
  • Provide AOP workforce planning inputs and represent business needs back into the P&C center of excellence.

Enable Culture & Engagement

  • Operationalize OFarm's culture strategy — DEI, engagement, recognition, and P&C Barn accountability — within client groups.
  • Integrate OFarm values into manager interactions, onboarding, and everyday team practices.

Guide Performance Management

  • Own support and completion of performance management cycles for Sr. Director and below: reviews, talent calibrations, and pay-for-performance conversations.
  • Coach managers on fair, actionable feedback and champion adoption of OFarm's PM tool and processes.

Support Employee Relations

  • Handle early performance and employee interventions independently (conflict resolution, policy guidance, informal investigations).
  • Escalate complex or high-risk matters — formal mediation, potential terminations — to the HR operations and Legal promptly.

Collaborate with People & Culture Peers

  • Learning and Development: surface development needs; connect managers to learning programs and co-facilitate targeted interventions within the function.
  • Talent Acquisition: partner on role intake, interview calibration, and offer alignment; close feedback loops on hiring experience.
  • HR Operations: partner with the HR Operations team, support managers through lifecycle transactions; flag HRIS data issues

In This Role, You’ll Bring With You:

  • 5+ years of HR generalist or HRBP experience; consumer goods, food & beverage, or mission-driven environment highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage tier ER matters independently with clear judgment on when to escalate.
  • Hands-on performance management experience, including reviews, calibrations, and pay-for-performance.
  • Strong manager coaching instincts and comfort brokering across L&D, TA, and HR Ops functions.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to simplify HR guidance for any audience.
  • Familiarity with SOX-related people process controls; experience in a public or recently public company a plus.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and PM tools (Rippling, Workday, Insperity, or similar).
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Slack, and other professional platforms
  • Up to 10% travel required: Although this role is a remote work-from-home position, we “Farmers” do meet as a company and/or as a department a few times a year. Anticipate possible travel up to a few times each quarter
  • Genuinely passionate about improving childhood nutrition for a healthier and happier planet
  • Desire to contribute to a dynamic, high-growth, purpose-driven work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity, deeply understand business needs, develop a cohesive strategy, and make decisions requiring a high level of judgment
  • Previous exposure to cross-functional work between Sustainability and People & Culture preferred
  • Must reside in the United States to be considered for this position
  • Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Compensation:

  • Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt
  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000.00 to $135,000.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a few factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses, stipends, and role-specific perks.

Additional:

  • Remote-first work environment
  • Annual Bonus
  • 401(k) program + 4% company match after three months
  • New Hire Remote Life Stipend + annual Nourish and Nurture Allowance
