Title: Claims Specialist
Location: Corporate Office - Orlando, FL
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: ODC is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Claims Specialist to serve as a key liaison between ODC, attorneys, and claims adjusters in the defense of our construction defect claims. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating communication, managing documentation, and representing ODC in legal proceedings as needed. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of construction agreements, and the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Reports to: Project Manager
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Act as a liaison, disseminating information between ODC, attorneys, and claim adjusters involved in the defense of construction defect claims.
- Forward Notices received via our Registered Agent to insurance carriers/adjusters.
- Verify the scope of work and identify all subcontractors involved to provide carriers with individual subcontractor agreements and Certificates of Insurance (COIs) for all applicable policy periods.
- Communicate with accounting to obtain a Job Cost Detail (JCD) from ComputerEase to verify subs and scopes .
- Review Master Trade Agreements, subcontractor agreements, and COIs, ensuring they are accurately compiled and sent to carriers.
- Monitor notifications of new lawsuits filed against ODC via our Registered Agent and coordinate appropriate responses.
- Represent ODC at court-ordered and voluntary mediations as needed.
- Maintain a calendar of all upcoming mediations and ensure upper management is informed.
- Attend field inspections to evaluate defects as presented by plaintiffs.
- Monitor and follow up on previous cases to ensure timely resolution and compliance with legal requirements.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
- Occasionally lift and move office supplies (up to 20 lbs) with or without reasonable accommodation.
