DESCRIPTION
The Oakwood Elementary After School Program (ASP) occurs at the end of the school day. Students’ check-in to After School if they are staying for regular childcare, enrichment classes, athletics, and/or performing arts classes and other activities.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma is required
Previous work experience with children is required
Must have a current CPR/First Aid certification
Must be able to problem solve and think quickly
Must be available to work Monday-Friday from 3:00pm until 6:00pm (however there is flexibility on the work schedule).
Approximately 12-15 hours per week
Qualifications
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises K-6 students on the playground, ensuring student safety and tending to social-emotional learning opportunities as they arise
After School Personnel will help navigate conversations to be grade appropriate, especially when there is a mixture of students in different grades socializing together.
Engage with students in activities such as crafts, board games and sports.
Other responsibilities include enforcing the rules for the purpose of safety and learning, managing attendance rosters, and organizing supplies/ snacks.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent must be able to do the following: stand for extended periods; sit for extended periods; bend and reach for filing and other job-related functions; climb up and down stairs; bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull, push, and lift; reach both above and below shoulder height. Specific visual abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to visually inspect work. Manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment required.
