Support outreach efforts in Whatcom County through foot routes, supply distribution, and community tabling. Assist with food rescue, meal distribution, and providing resource navigation for youth experiencing homelessness.
Must be enrolled in a Human Services, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or similar educational program. Requires background check clearance and certifications in CPR/First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Food Handling.

Internship Description
This position contributes to NWYS’s success by supporting NWYS outreach efforts in Whatcom County. Duties may include foot routes, supply distribution, tabling at local schools and events, encampment outreach, support with food rescue pick-up, cooking, and meal distribution, and outreach to community members and local businesses. NWYS Whatcom Outreach utilizes a relationship-based approach to support youth and young adults experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. Outreach provides survival supplies, resource navigation, referrals to treatment and housing services, light touch case management and care coordination, transportation when appropriate, programming in more rural parts of the county, and supports clients who are currently incarcerated in juvenile detention, Whatcom County Jail, and WA state prisons.
