Head of Technology & Systems

POSITION OVERVIEW

Dr. Brown’s Group of Companies is seeking a highly strategic and hands-on Head of Technology & Systems to lead the development, management, optimization, and scaling of the company’s digital ecosystem, including the TricoExam Platform, AI-powered clinical systems, SaaS technologies, analytics infrastructure, and enterprise operational systems supporting hair restoration and medical aesthetics services.

This role will oversee the technology vision behind TricoExam — the all-in-one clinical application designed specifically for hair restoration professionals — while also supporting the broader technology needs of DBG clinics, education platforms, surgical workflows, analytics initiatives, and digital healthcare operations.

The ideal candidate combines expertise in SaaS platform management, healthcare technology, AI systems, data analytics, cybersecurity, and operational automation with strong leadership and execution capabilities.

This individual will ensure that all technology systems are scalable, secure, compliant, user-friendly, and aligned with the company’s global growth strategy.

TricoExam is an all-in-one digital platform designed specifically for trichologists, dermatologists, and hair restoration specialists. It is developed to help professionals document, analyze, and manage hair and scalp consultations through a digital interface. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technology Leadership & Strategy

• Develop and execute the company’s overall technology and systems strategy
• Lead digital transformation initiatives across clinics, education, operations, and SaaS platforms
• Build scalable technology infrastructure to support domestic and international growth
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, AI systems, automation tools, and analytics solutions
• Partner with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with business goals

TricoExam Platform Management

• Oversee the architecture, functionality, scalability, and performance of the TricoExam platform
• Lead product development planning, system upgrades, integrations, and feature rollouts
• Improve provider experience, workflow efficiency, and platform usability
• Coordinate with developers, UI/UX teams, data specialists, and clinical stakeholders
• Ensure platform reliability, uptime, performance optimization, and user support systems

AI Clinical Systems & Automation

• Lead implementation of AI-powered clinical support systems for hair restoration and medical aesthetics workflows
• Support automation of clinical documentation, diagnostics, treatment tracking, reporting, and operational processes
• Identify opportunities for machine learning, predictive analytics, and intelligent workflow enhancements
• Ensure ethical, secure, and compliant use of AI technologies in healthcare environments

SaaS & Systems Infrastructure

• Manage cloud-based systems, software architecture, integrations, APIs, and enterprise applications
• Oversee CRM, EMR, scheduling systems, analytics platforms, payment systems, and operational technologies
• Ensure system interoperability between clinics, education platforms, and business units
• Establish technology standards and drive cloud infrastructure cost-optimization strategies, governance policies, and operational best practices

Analytics & Data Management

• Lead business intelligence and analytics initiatives across the organization
• Develop dashboards, reporting systems, KPI tracking, and operational insights
• Improve data visibility for clinical outcomes, client retention, operational efficiency, and business growth
• Ensure data integrity, security, accessibility, and reporting accuracy

Cybersecurity & Compliance

• Maintain enterprise-grade cybersecurity standards and encrypted cloud infrastructure
• Ensure compliance with healthcare privacy, security, and data protection requirements
• Develop disaster recovery, backup, risk management, and incident response protocols
• Monitor platform security vulnerabilities and system health

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Build and manage internal and external technology teams, consultants, and vendors
• Collaborate closely with clinical, operations, education, marketing, and executive teams
• Translate business and clinical needs into scalable technology solutions
• Create documentation, SOPs, workflows, and technology training processes

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Health Informatics, Data Analytics, or related field
• 7+ years of leadership experience in technology, SaaS platforms, healthcare systems, or digital operations
• Strong experience managing cloud-based software platforms and enterprise systems
• Experience with healthcare technology, clinical systems, EMR/EHR environments, or medical SaaS platforms
• Knowledge of AI systems, workflow automation, analytics tools, and data infrastructure
• Understanding of cybersecurity, compliance, cloud security, and data governance
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams and projects
• Strong problem-solving, strategic planning, and operational leadership skills
• Knowledge of POPIA-compliant systems and healthcare data privacy standards, including handling of sensitive personal and health-related information in accordance with South African data protection requirements

Preferred

• Experience in healthcare, medical aesthetics, hair restoration, cosmetic surgery, or wellness industries
• Experience scaling SaaS or health-tech platforms
• Familiarity with product development lifecycles, with a focus on setting milestones, managing estimations, and driving day-to-day delivery of product outputs and schedules
• Experience with analytics tools, BI dashboards, API integrations, and cloud architecture
• Knowledge of HIPAA-compliant systems and healthcare data privacy standards
• Startup, high-growth, or founder-led company experience preferred
