Job Summary:
This position is a civil service employee that supports the business and membership operations of Campus Recreation.
Job Description:
Serves as system administrator for software and business management platforms (Fusion, Activenet, Campus Groups, 25Live, etc.) within Campus Recreation; manages access, training, documentation, reporting: supports and trains other staff and student employees using software and platforms.
Updates Campus Recreation website and monitors Campus Recreation inbox.
Processes departmental forms/transactions and reports including student employment hire paperwork, financial /budgeting, purchases, membership, program registrations, etc.
Provide oversight for membership operations including supporting student staff training, maintaining membership data and facility access, customer service, membership sales and renewals, financial transactions, and program registration.
Oversee and manage the reservation system, 25Live, for Campus Recreation facilities.
Responds to reservation inquires, collaborates with Campus Recreation staff to schedule spaces based on availability and departmental priorities, ensuring all bookings comply with facility policies.
Develops and implements customer service strategies and marketing plan for campus recreation, including membership communication, promotions, campus recreation programs, new member onboarding, and member retention efforts.
Work collaboratively with fellow staff in Campus Recreation supporting departmental events as needed.
Collaborates with other NEIU departments serving on various professional development committees and representing Campus Recreation at NEIU events.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimal Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Any one or combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the categories below:
A. College coursework in any curriculum, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
B. Work experience performing office/clerical activities, including the use of computer systems.
3. One (1) year (12 months) of work experience comparable to the second level of this series.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. (Hours may vary depending on departmental needs; evening and weekend hours may be required).
Location: NEIU Main Campus (3600 W Foster Ave Chicago, IL 60625).
Setting: Business and Membership Specialist is an on campus position, not eligible for Hybrid or Remote work.
This position requires a background check.
