North Coast Container is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to join our maintenance team in Charlotte, NC. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving electrical systems and production equipment throughout our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will also possess basic to intermediate mechanical maintenance skills to assist with equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and production support.
The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, and be committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Essential Responsibilities
Electrical Duties
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems up to 480V.
Diagnose and repair motors, drives, sensors, relays, contactors, PLCs, and control circuits.
Install, test, and maintain electrical equipment and machinery.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
Troubleshoot automation and control systems to minimize downtime.
Support equipment upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
Mechanical Duties
Assist with repair and maintenance of conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
Perform equipment alignments, belt replacements, lubrication, and mechanical adjustments.
Participate in machine changeovers and production equipment setup.
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to equipment failures.
General Responsibilities
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policies.
Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and maintenance personnel.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or GED.
3+ years of industrial electrical troubleshooting and maintenance experience.
Working knowledge of 480V three-phase electrical systems.
Experience reading electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Basic mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery.
Strong commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred
Technical degree or certification in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley preferred).
Experience in metal manufacturing, packaging, container production, or similar industrial environments.
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other maintenance equipment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and production demands.
Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed.
