This leader partners closely with Operations, Clinical Leadership, Business Development, and Executive Leadership to ensure the organization can successfully recruit, onboard, and retain high-quality anesthesia clinicians in support of new business growth, contract expansions, and ongoing staffing needs.
The role oversees all aspects of talent acquisition, including workforce planning, provider recruitment, recruiting operations, sourcing strategy, employment branding, and recruitment analytics. The Senior Director serves as a strategic advisor to executive leadership regarding labor market trends, clinician supply and demand, and growth-related staffing risks and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Workforce Planning & Practice Growth
Develop and execute talent acquisition strategies aligned with organizational growth objectives and new practice implementations.
Partner with Business Development and Operations leaders to assess staffing implications of new contracts, acquisitions, and expansion opportunities.
Build scalable workforce planning models to support growth across anesthesia service lines.
Evaluate market conditions, compensation trends, and clinician availability to support growth planning and financial forecasting.
Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on anesthesia workforce challenges and opportunities.
Clinical Recruitment Leadership
Lead national recruitment efforts for anesthesiologists, CRNAs, CAAs, and anesthesia leadership positions.
Establish and oversee proactive sourcing strategies to build sustainable pipelines of anesthesia clinicians.
Develop relationships with residency programs, CRNA schools, fellowship programs, professional associations, and industry networks.
Partner with physician and advanced practice provider recruitment teams to improve recruitment outcomes and fill rates.
Ensure a high-quality candidate experience from initial engagement through onboarding.
Staffing & Operational Excellence
Oversee recruitment operations supporting both ongoing staffing needs and rapid deployment for new practice launches.
Implement standardized recruitment processes, service-level agreements, and best practices across the organization.
Drive continuous improvement in recruiting technology, ATS utilization, CRM strategies, and sourcing tools.
Manage external search firms, locum staffing vendors, and recruitment marketing partners.
Partner with Data Analytics team and use data-driven insights to improve recruitment effectiveness and support strategic decision-making.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of clinical recruiters, recruitment managers, and talent acquisition professionals.
Establish performance metrics and accountability standards across recruiting functions.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, urgency, and service excellence.
Support succession planning and leadership development within the talent acquisition organization.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
Experience: 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in workforce planning, talent acquisition, healthcare operations, or related functions. Experience supporting multi-site healthcare organizations and growth initiatives preferred.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, drive strategic initiatives, and build effective partnerships with executive, operational, and clinical leaders.
Business & Strategic Acumen: Experience supporting organizational growth through workforce planning, staffing strategies, operational planning, and data-driven decision-making.
Technology & Analytics: Experience utilizing workforce, recruiting, HRIS, CRM, and reporting tools. Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage metrics and insights to improve organizational performance. Experience using Phenom and workday preferred.
Healthcare Experience: Knowledge of healthcare workforce dynamics and provider staffing models preferred. Experience within anesthesia services, physician practice management, or other clinician-intensive healthcare environments is a plus.
