The Health Unit Coordinator serves as a resource for nursing staff and patients by coordinating care, processing physician orders, and managing unit information. They also provide clerical support, greet visitors, and ensure patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes are documented in the EHR.
Candidates must have a high school diploma, with a Health Unit Coordinator or Medical Secretary certificate or degree preferred. At least one year of relevant work experience is also preferred, along with strong organizational and communication skills.
The Health Unit Coordinator serves as a resource for unit nursing staff, patients, and visitors by assisting with care coordination, providing information, and securing assistance. Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Compensation for this role ranges from 20-24 per hour depending on education and experience.
