Job Description:

MRI Technologist
Location: Port Jefferson, NY
Organization: New York Imaging (NYI)

Key Responsibilities

As an MRI Technologist at NYI, your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain and adjust imaging equipment.

  • Calibrate MRI (MRA) consoles and peripheral hardware.

  • Operate injectors with proficiency.

  • Ensure patient safety using aseptic injection techniques and appropriate pre-screening.

  • Address patient concerns throughout the procedure.

  • Flush IV lines post-contrast injection.

  • Accurately follow physician orders for imaging areas.

  • Prepare patients for procedures, including medical history review and answering procedural questions.

  • Shield exposed areas of the body to protect the patient during imaging.

  • Attach physiological monitoring leads as necessary.

  • Provide headphones for patient comfort.

  • Properly position patients for imaging.

  • Maintain accurate patient medical records.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
     

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree

  • Current state license

  • CPR certification

  • Minimum of one year of continuous MRI experience

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Commitment to patient care and safety
