Responsible for providing direct and indirect nursing care to mental health and addiction recovery clients using scientific principles and nursing judgments. Key duties include administering medications, conducting nursing assessments, and documenting client progress within treatment plans.
Candidates must hold an active State of Florida Registered Nursing License and pass a Level 2 Background check. Experience with vulnerable populations and knowledge of mental health and substance use are highly preferred.

New Horizons is the largest mental health and addiction recovery provider on the Treasure Coast (and beyond), serving 15,000 children and adults annually through inpatient crisis services, 24-hour help line and mobile response team, and outpatient programs conveniently located across Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties. In addition, New Horizons assists 22,000 students in area schools, and we work closely with the courts, law enforcement, jails, and hospitals to help improve the health of individuals and the quality of life in our community.
We are seeking Registered Nurses which will be responsible for the administration of direct and indirect individual care for the Program using the nursing process and nursing judgments based on scientific principles. The R.N. is guided by the Nurse Practitioner Act and established policies and procedures for the unit.

From its first location in Ft. Pierce, New Horizons has expanded to serve residents in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie Counties, with its main campus on Midway Road in Fort Pierce. More than 60 years after its founding, New Horizons continues to work hard to fulfill the vision of its founders. It offers inpatient and outpatient mental health care for adults and children, crisis units for adults and children, learning resource centers for independent living skills, a transitional group home, a primary care clinic, substance abuse and detox services, case management, family support and counseling, and programs in schools and with law enforcement agencies. New Horizons provides a safety net for those in crisis, outreach programs to promote resilience and recovery, and community education to help our community achieve health in both mind and body.
