Description

Position Summary:

Manages inventory, purchasing, and receiving/stockroom activities to support production, service and New product Introduction (NPI). 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans, manages, and coordinates all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies needed to meet the changing levels of product demand.
  • Negotiates prices for materials and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies; ensures accurate and timely delivery of orders.
  • Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
  • Integrates sales orders and/or forecasts with the production schedule and coordinates availability of raw materials and supplies to meet delivery dates.
  • Oversees the receiving, stockrooms and transporting of materials and supplies located in the company, at sites and in the factory.
  • Utilizes and optimizes ERP systems to streamline processes, minimize operational funds and reduce instances of raw material shortages on the production floor.
  • Develops and improves processes and systems to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety.
  • Manage personnel actions such as approving timecards and time off requests, track absenteeism, hiring, terminating, promoting and resolving employee issues.
  •  Manages daily operations and supervises direct reports in collaboration with Manager.
  •  All other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • BS or related field of study, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 3-5 years of supply chain and leadership experience is required. Experience in the medical device manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Proficient in understanding and interpretation of written and verbal instructions, direction, and technical information.
  • Advanced computer competency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and business specific software (e.g. ERP, eQMS, CAD).

Reporting to this position: Purchasing Specialists, Purchasing Coordinators, Materials Coordinators, Manufacturing Support Specialists.
